Compliance
Westborn prohibits any discrimination or harassment of its employees and customers on the basis of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex (including sexual orientation, transgender status, and gender identity), pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation, and related medical conditions), physical or mental disability, genetic information (including testing and characteristics), veteran status, uniformed servicemember status, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local laws.
Westborn prides itself on reasonably accommodating its disabled customers in a variety of ways, including access to its stores and products. Westborn Market prohibits animals in its stores, except for service animals. If an animal in the store does not appear to be a service animal, a manager may inquire with the customer as to whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability and what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Westborn staff are trained to take customers at their word. If animals are properly excluded, either because they do not meet the definition of service animal under the law or are out of control or not housebroken, disabled customers will be given the opportunity to shop without the animal present or to purchase products through another method (delivery, curbside pickup, etc.).
